Pssst....how about a cheap toilet?
Prep work is continuing with efforts being focusing on getting James and the houses along College Street and Railroad Avenue ready for demolition. College employees recently received the following e-mail:
Dear Campus Community,
Starting on the week of May 22nd - demolition work in association with
the New Science Building will commence, and will continue until
completion, in July.
In the interest of sustainability and in a large effort to re-use and
recycle building materials and to reduce the amount of demolition waste
that goes to the landfill, we are salvaging materials and fixtures out
of the buildings that will be demolished. The demolition contractor
will salvage many of the materials as part of their contract with the
College, and the Old Neighborhood League of Carlisle has also been given
salvage permission for materials and fixtures with historic
significance. Other salvageable materials and fixtures will be made
available to the College community on a "First-Contact First-Get" basis.
If you're interested, please read on.
